Instructions

OpenManage Enterprise plugins, such as OpenManage Enterprise for VMware vCenter (OMEVV), have led to a consolidation effort of existing licenses into OpenManage Enterprise Advanced and Advanced+ licenses. The Advanced+ license enables connections and integrations to extend PowerEdge hardware controls into partner frameworks like Microsoft System Center, VMware vCenter, and Service Now.

Advanced and Advanced+ License Comparison table

Previously, licenses for products such as OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter (OMIVV) were installed on the respective appliance interfaces and not through the DRAC.
The Advanced and Advanced+ licenses are installed on the DRAC interface, are perpetual licenses for the life of the server, and are available for IDRAC 8 and above.

Note:  The OpenManage Enterprise Advanced+ license is in addition to any DRAC-specific license like Enterprise or DataCenter.

License installation instructions:

  1. To install the License, download the license file or files from Digital Locker.
  2. Extract the file if zipped.
  3. Upload to the DRAC Interface. On DRAC 9, the License can be imported through Configuration > Licenses > Select Actions menu > Import. On DRAC 8, the license can be imported by expanding Overview > Server > Licenses > Select Actions menu > Import.
Note:  Advanced+ Licenses are only available for DRAC 8 and above and are not compatible with DRAC 7.

License Installation across multiple products

The license files are specific to each DRAC. There are a few different ways for installing the license files to multiple systems.

One method is to use the Dell License Manager utility. Dell License Manager is a one-to-many license deployment and reporting tool for integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC), OpenManage Enterprise Advanced licenses, Chassis Management Controller (CMC) licenses, and additional licenses. Dell License Manager can download, bind, deploy, and backup:

The license files can also be imported using racadm commands.
