PowerVault: Certificate Information Missing in ME5 UI
Summary: PowerVault ME5 arrays User Interface (UI) shows blank certificate information. The CLI ('Command-Line Interface') displays certificate information as expected.
Symptoms
Certificate Information Not Displayed in UI.
The following symptoms are observed on ME5 arrays:
- Certificate information fields appear blank in the PowerVault Manager UI.
Installed certificates are visible when using the CLI command.
The issue persists even after importing new certificates.
Cause
A firmware defect in the ME5 controller prevents the UI from retrieving and displaying certificate information, while the CLI correctly shows the certificates on the system.
Resolution
Upgrade Firmware to Resolve Missing Certificate Information.
Prerequisites:
- Administrative access to the ME5 PowerVault Manager UI or CLI
- The latest firmware package (ME5.1.2.1.1 or later) is downloaded from the Dell Support portal
- Planned maintenance window to accommodate a brief service interruption
Caution: Firmware upgrades cause a temporary loss of access to the array. Ensure all I/O operations are quiesced before proceeding.
Warning: Do not replace any hardware to fix this issue. The problem is resolved solely by applying the corrected firmware.
Caution: If encountering errors during the upgrade or the certificate information is still missing, contact Dell Support for assistance. Provide the service request number and the firmware version that was attempted.
