How to Update Jabra Headphones in Dell ThinOS 9.x

Instructions

Affected Operating Systems:

  • Dell ThinOS 9.x

  1. Download the necessary files from Home - Jabra XPRESS This hyperlink is taking you to a website outside of Dell Technologies.
    1. On the Jabra page
      1. Select Platform
      2. Select Linux platform
      3. Click Next.
        Select Your Platform
  2. On the Start Managing Devices screen, select New
    Start Managing Your Devices
  3. On the Select Jabra Devices to Manage screen, selected the device model and click Add.
    Select model and click Add
  4. Select the firmware version for your Jabra headset.

  5. Accept EULA and provide the local web server URL.
  6. Download Zip archive.

    The .zip file contains two folders:
    • Files_to_install_on_end-user_computers
    • Files_to_place_on_local_server

  7. Copy the files from Files to place on Local local Server to the root directory of your web server.

    Caution: Do not extract xpress_package_****_**** .zip file.
  8. Copy the Jabra.ini file from Files_to_install_on_end_user_computers and upload to Wyse Management Suite (WMS)

Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure http://webserver/xpress_package_info.xml is accessible from the network.
  • Jabra headsets with the same firmware version do not trigger the update manager on the thin client.
  • Unfortunately, the Jabra version cannot be checked in ThinOS. Install Jabra Direct on a Windows machine and check for the version.

How to trigger an update:

  • Reboot the thin client with Jabra headset connected (Hot plug not supported)
  • Change the name of Jabra.ini and save and publish again
