Symptoms

The following Dell monitors can be seen to flicker when connecting to Mac products.

This is only happening when the monitor connects to a Mac product, such as a laptop or desktop device.

Affected Products:

  • Dell U2722D
  • Dell U2722DE
  • Dell U2722DX

Cause

The Mac settings are causing a compatibility issue with the monitors.

Resolution

Resolve this by turning the True Tone setting off on the Mac device. The following instructions are to turn True Tone off:

  1. Go to the Mac device and open System Preferences.

  2. Select Displays.

  3. Ensure that the checkbox next to the True Tone option is empty.

  4. Turn off the Dell Monitor.

  5. Wait for a minimum of two hours after disabling the True Tone option before turning the Dell monitor on.
