See the issues below and the possible solutions:
Issue 1:
The webcam’s Presence Detection features including Proximity Sensor, Wake On Approach, Walk Away Lock function does not work with Dell Optimizer or Dell Display and Peripheral Manager.
Using Presence Sensing with Dell Express Sign-in, may help resolve the issue.
Perform the following steps to enable webcam presence detection for Proximity Sensor, Wake On Approach, Walk Away Lock feature on Dell Optimizer or Dell Display and Peripheral Manager software.
- Ensure that you are using a Dell Personal Computer installed with Dell Display & Peripheral Manger software. If you do not have the software installed, you can download it from the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager support page.
- Under the Presence Detection section:
- If Proximity Sensor, Wake On Approach, Walk Away Lock is shown:
- Turn on the feature as wanted.
- If Compatible Firmware with a link to Dell.com is shown:
- Follow the link provided and download the Dell WB7022 Presence Sensing Configurator.
- Select Dell Express Sign-in, and then click Next and follow the prompts to perform the Firmware update.

- Once the firmware is installed, launch the Dell Display & Peripheral Manager.
- Select Presence Detection, and enable Proximity Sensor, Wake On Approach, and Walk Away Lock as wanted.

Issue 2:
Windows 11 Presence Sensing feature does not work with the Dell WB7022 webcam.
Enabling the Microsoft Presence Sensing for Windows 11 Operating System may help resolve the issue.
Perform the following steps to enable the webcam sensing detection within Windows 11.
- Ensure that your system has the latest version of Windows 11.
- Open Settings.
- Click Windows Update.
- Click the Check for updates button.
- Ensure that firmware on the Dell WB7022 webcam enables Microsoft Presence Sensing.
- Follow the link and download the Dell WB7022 Presence Sensing Configurator.
- Select Microsoft Presence Sensing, click Next to perform the Firmware update.

- Open Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Power & Battery.
- In the Screen & sleep section, select to turn on Turn off my screen when I leave, and Wake my screen when I approach.
