This article applies to This article does not apply to This article is not tied to any specific product. Not all product versions are identified in this article.

Symptoms

 the following issues may occur:

  • Upgrade fails if deleted user accounts remain in the database
  • Upgrade creates a default user dpiam-gateway-admin that is not removed automatically after completion
  • Adding a custom certificate during upgrade appends an incorrect .crt extension to the path, causing the upgrade to fail
  • Systems with custom certificates installed lose all Cyber Recovery Manager functionality after a successful upgrade.

Cause

Software defects in Cyber Recovery 19.21.x result in:

  • Improper handling of deleted user accounts during upgrade
  • Failure to remove temporary default user accounts
  • Incorrect path handling for custom certificates
  • Compatibility issues with custom certificates post-upgrade

Resolution

  • All issues listed above are resolved in Cyber Recovery 19.22.0.0-23.
  • Upgrade to version 19.22.0.0-23 or later to prevent these failures.

Additional Information

  • If an upgrade to 19.22 is not immediately possible:
    • Avoid adding custom certificates during upgrade.
    • Validate user accounts in the database before starting the upgrade.
  • Monitor Dell release notes for additional fixes and recommendations.
