PowerEdge: Problema al firmware Toshiba MG08 e MG09 che causa la mancata risposta dell'unità

  • Il gruppo di continuità della scansione dei supporti in background (BMS) diventa ininterrotto, con conseguente mancanza di risposta dell'unità.
  • Errori di I/O osservati durante il normale funzionamento.
  • Timeout avviati dall host, incluso un valore di timeout di 12 secondi

Cause

Problema del firmware che causa un gruppo di continuità BMS (Background Media Scanset)

La causa principale è un difetto nel firmware Toshiba MG08 e MG09 che consente alla routine BMS di diventare ininterrotta. Quando BMS riprende dopo un periodo di inattività, i successivi comandi di accesso ai supporti dell host non sono più in grado di sospendere la scansione, facendo sì che l'unità rimanga occupata fino alla scadenza del timeout di 12 secondi a livello di sistema.

    Resolution

    Aggiornare il firmware delle unità Toshiba MG08 e MG09 il prima possibile per evitare l'impatto sui dati. 

     
    Attenzione: Eseguire gli aggiornamenti del firmware durante una finestra di manutenzione pianificata. Verificare che sia stato eseguito il backup completo di tutti i dati, poiché un'interruzione dell'alimentazione durante l'aggiornamento può rendere l'unità inutilizzabile.
