Symptoms

『AppSync 4.3ユーザー ガイド』の284ページには、次のような記述があります。 
Unlink the SnapVX snapshots during unmount mount option also frees up the unlinked target devices in protection copies and second generation repurposing copies.
NOTE: Freeing up of devices is not guaranteed. The service plan waits for a maximum of five minutes for freeing up unlinked target devices, and then resume.
Free Allコマンドが5分以内に終了しない場合、AppSyncは再度マウントして同じターゲット デバイスを再利用するよう要求することがあります。リンクが要求されると、Free Allがまだ実行されているため、リンクが失敗する可能性があります。

この状況では、マウント実行中にサービス プランのイベントに次のように表示されます。 
VMAX_000070,host,The SnapVX snapshot AS_Daily_namexx_Jul_30_at_06_02_40 is establishing link with target devices, for the source and target pair(s) 00011:00022, 00033:00044, on storage array 00019760xxxx.

Mount copy, VMAX_000002,host,VMAX operation failed. Error: Exception thrown while linking the copy Information not available for the job or job is not running. Considered job failed :FAILED and reason:The action cannot be performed because all device allocations are being freed 

Cause

Free Allコマンドの導入は、AppSync 4.3.0.0に追加された新機能で、4.3.0.1にも存在します。

Resolution

4.3.0.0の場合:
Free allはリンク解除時に実行されます
サービス プランのマウント フェーズで[Unlink]チェック ボックスをオフにして、アンマウント中のリンク解除中にFree Allが実行されないようにします

AppSync 4.3.0.0には、AppSync詳細設定を導入するホットフィックスが用意されています。この設定を「True」に設定すると、リンク解除時にFREE ALLをスキップできます。Dellサポートに連絡してホットフィックスを入手してください。ホットフィックスを取得するためにサービス リクエストを呼び出す場合は、この記事番号を伝えてください。

このホットフィックスにより、次のAppSync詳細設定が導入されます。
「vmax.skip.freeup.target.device」

アンマウント時にリンク解除中にターゲット デバイスの解放をスキップするには、「true」に設定します


バージョン4.3.0.1および4.4.0.0の場合:
[Free All]は期限切れ時に実行されます
次のAppSync詳細設定は、4.3.0.1で導入されました。
「vmax.freeup.target.device」  
 
Trueに設定すると、コピーの有効期限が切れたときにFree Allが実行されます
これをFalseに設定すると、AppSyncは期限切れ時にFree Allを実行しません

バージョン4.3.0.1および4.4.0.0では、AppSyncの詳細設定「vmax.skip.freeup.target.device."

手記：AppSync詳細設定は、画面右上の［Settings］をクリックし、左側の［Advanced Settings］をクリックするとUIに表示されます。

4.3.0.1および4.4.0.0を明確にするために再入力
  • 4.3.0.1および4.4.0.0では、次の単一の条件が満たされている場合、 EXPIRE 中にFREE ALLを送信します。
システム変数vmax.freeup.target.deviceがTRUEに設定されている。
期限切れ時にFREE ALLを実行しないようにするには、FALSEに設定します。

「skip」という単語を含むその他のAppSyncシステム設定:vmax.skip.freeup.target.deviceは、バージョン4.3.0.1以降では使用されません。
