The Brighness in Windows Mobility Center Does Not Correspond with the On Screen Display in Windows 7
 

The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the bightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. Adjusting the brightness level using the <Fn> + <Down> or <Up> key combinations has no effect on the reported level with the Quickset OSD. Additionally, after a few moments of adjusting the brightness using the keyboard combinations, the Windows Mobility Center will revert to the maximum brightness setting (Figure 1).

Currently, updating the system BIOS and installing a new version of Quickset are the only two possible solutions, but may not resolve the compatibility issue. Old versions of Quickset are incompatible with Windows 7.

Download and Install the Latest Version of Dell™ QuickSet
 

To download and install the latest version of Dell Quickset, perform the following steps:

1. Click here to enter the Drivers and Downloads page.

2. Click on

   Enter a Tag

   to use your service tag to find the driver, then click

   Go

   .
    

   	Note:
   	If the Service Tag is not available, click on Select Model , select the appropriate Product Type and Product Model, then click Confirm .

3. Select the operating system installed on your computer from the Operating System: dropdown box.

4. Select Applications from the Category: dropdown box.

5. Click the desired driver for your system displayed in the File Title(s) column to display the download page.

    

   	Note:
   	If you have the information provided from the online System Information utility or your invoice, please refer to this for what drivers to download.

   
   Review the information on the page and take note of  Installation Instructions, and Important Information.

6. Click Download. You may receive a warning and an option to run or save the file.

7. Click Save.

8. When the Save As window appears, designate a folder to save the file that is being downloaded and click Save. The download progress window displays.

9. When the download is complete, follow the instructions provided in the Installation Instructions.

Laste ned og installere den nyeste BIOS-oppdateringen
 

1. Bla til siden Drivere og nedlastinger.

2. Klikk på Skriv inn en ID for å bruke service-ID-en til å finne BIOS-oppdateringen.

    

   	Merk:
   	Hvis service-ID-en ikke er tilgjengelig, klikker du på Velg modell, og deretter velger du riktig produkttype og produktmodell.

3. Klikk på Send.

4. Velg operativsystem, driverspråk, og viktighetsinnstillinger fra rullegardinmenyene (figur 1). Velg BIOS på rullegardinmenyen Kategori.

    

   Operativsystem:         Windows Vista 32-biters Driverspråk:         Engelsk Kategori:         BIOS Viktighet:         Alle

5. Klikk på BIOS-oppdateringspakken du vil laste ned, i Filnavn-kolonnen for å vise nedlastingssiden.

    

   	Merk:
   	Hvis du har informasjonen som ble oppgitt i systeminformasjonsverktøyet på Internett eller på fakturaen, kan du bruke denne for å se hvilke drivere du kan laste ned.

6. Les gjennom informasjonen på siden.

7. Klikk på Last ned nå. Det kan hende at det vises en advarsel og et spørsmål om du vil kjøre eller lagre filen.

    

   	Merk:
   	Hvis Dell Driver Download Manager-vinduet vises, klikker du på Install (Installer).

8. Klikk på Lagre.

9. Når skjermbildet Lagre som vises, angir du en mappe der du lagrer filen som blir lastet ned, og klikker deretter på Lagre.

10. Når nedlastingen er fullført, klikker du på Open Folder (Åpne mappe) i Dell Driver Download Manager.

11. Dobbeltklikk på filen, og følg installeringsinstruksjonene.
