Síntomas

MDM installed on a host running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x or CentOS 8.x.

Symptoms

The following error appears, either when showevents.py is performed directly or using another utility, such as 'get info'.

SyntaxError: invalid syntax

 

Impact

MDM events cannot be viewed or collected.

Causa

The showevents.py utility is only compatible with Python 2.

Resolución

Perform the following steps.

  • Confirm that Python 2 is available on all the MDM manager hosts.

  • Change the utility's interpreter to Python 2.
    Change the utility's first line (shebang sequence) to the following:

    #!/usr/bin/python2
