The Brighness in Windows Mobility Center Does Not Correspond with the On Screen Display in Windows 7
 

The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the bightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. Adjusting the brightness level using the <Fn> + <Down> or <Up> key combinations has no effect on the reported level with the Quickset OSD. Additionally, after a few moments of adjusting the brightness using the keyboard combinations, the Windows Mobility Center will revert to the maximum brightness setting (Figure 1).

Currently, updating the system BIOS and installing a new version of Quickset are the only two possible solutions, but may not resolve the compatibility issue. Old versions of Quickset are incompatible with Windows 7.

Download and Install the Latest Version of Dell™ QuickSet
 

To download and install the latest version of Dell Quickset, perform the following steps:

1. Click here to enter the Drivers and Downloads page.

2. Click on

   Enter a Tag

   to use your service tag to find the driver, then click

   Go

   .
    

   	Note:
   	If the Service Tag is not available, click on Select Model , select the appropriate Product Type and Product Model, then click Confirm .

3. Select the operating system installed on your computer from the Operating System: dropdown box.

4. Select Applications from the Category: dropdown box.

5. Click the desired driver for your system displayed in the File Title(s) column to display the download page.

    

   	Note:
   	If you have the information provided from the online System Information utility or your invoice, please refer to this for what drivers to download.

   
   Review the information on the page and take note of  Installation Instructions, and Important Information.

6. Click Download. You may receive a warning and an option to run or save the file.

7. Click Save.

8. When the Save As window appears, designate a folder to save the file that is being downloaded and click Save. The download progress window displays.

9. When the download is complete, follow the instructions provided in the Installation Instructions.

Stažení a instalace nejnovějšího systému BIOS
 

1. Přejděte na stránku Ovladače a soubory ke stažení.

2. Můžete kliknout na možnost Vložit tag a vyhledat aktualizaci systému BIOS podle výrobního čísla.

    

   	Poznámka:
   	Pokud výrobní číslo nemáte k dispozici, klikněte na možnost Vybrat model a vyberte příslušný typ produktu a model produktu.

3. Klikněte na tlačítko Dále.

4. Vyberte požadovaná nastavení operačního systému, jazyka ovladače a důležitosti v příslušných rozevíracích polích (Obrázek 1). Rozevírací nabídku Kategorie je třeba nastavit na možnost BIOS.

    

   Operační systém:         Windows Vista (32bitová verze) Jazyk ovladače:         Čeština Kategorie:         BIOS Důležitost:         Vše

5. Ve sloupci Název souboru vyberte balíček aktualizací systému BIOS, který chcete stáhnout. Zobrazí se stránka se soubory ke stažení.

    

   	Poznámka:
   	Informace o tom, které ovladače máte stáhnout, naleznete v online programu Informace o systému nebo na své faktuře.

6. Projděte si informace na stránce.

7. Klikněte na tlačítko Stáhnout. Může se zobrazit upozornění a nabídka možnosti soubor spustit nebo uložit.

    

   	Poznámka:
   	Pokud se zobrazí okno Správce pro stahování společnosti Dell, klikněte na tlačítko Instalovat.

8. Klikněte na tlačítko Uložit.

9. Až se zobrazí okno Uložit jako, vyberte složku, do které má být stahovaný soubor uložen, a klikněte na tlačítko Uložit.

10. Jakmile je stažení u konce, klikněte na možnost Otevřít složku ve Správci pro stahování společnosti Dell.

11. Dvakrát klikněte na soubor a postupujte podle poskytnutých pokynů k instalaci.
