The Brighness in Windows Mobility Center Does Not Correspond with the On Screen Display in Windows 7
 

The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the bightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. Adjusting the brightness level using the <Fn> + <Down> or <Up> key combinations has no effect on the reported level with the Quickset OSD. Additionally, after a few moments of adjusting the brightness using the keyboard combinations, the Windows Mobility Center will revert to the maximum brightness setting (Figure 1).

Currently, updating the system BIOS and installing a new version of Quickset are the only two possible solutions, but may not resolve the compatibility issue. Old versions of Quickset are incompatible with Windows 7.

Download and Install the Latest Version of Dell™ QuickSet
 

To download and install the latest version of Dell Quickset, perform the following steps:

1. Click here to enter the Drivers and Downloads page.

2. Click on

   Enter a Tag

   to use your service tag to find the driver, then click

   Go

   .
    

   	Note:
   	If the Service Tag is not available, click on Select Model , select the appropriate Product Type and Product Model, then click Confirm .

3. Select the operating system installed on your computer from the Operating System: dropdown box.

4. Select Applications from the Category: dropdown box.

5. Click the desired driver for your system displayed in the File Title(s) column to display the download page.

    

   	Note:
   	If you have the information provided from the online System Information utility or your invoice, please refer to this for what drivers to download.

   
   Review the information on the page and take note of  Installation Instructions, and Important Information.

6. Click Download. You may receive a warning and an option to run or save the file.

7. Click Save.

8. When the Save As window appears, designate a folder to save the file that is being downloaded and click Save. The download progress window displays.

9. When the download is complete, follow the instructions provided in the Installation Instructions.

Download og installer den nyeste BIOS
 

1. Gå til siden Drivere og downloads.

2. Klik på Indtast kode for at bruge servicekoden til at finde BIOS-opdateringen.

    

   	Bemærk:
   	Hvis servicekoden ikke er tilgængelig, skal du klikke på Vælg model og derefter vælge den relevante produkttype og produktmodel.

3. Klik på Send.

4. Vælg de ønskede indstillinger for Operativsystem, Driversprog og Vigtighed på rullelisterne (Figur 1). På rullelisten Kategori skal du vælge BIOS.

    

   Operativsystem:         Windows Vista 32-bit Driversprog:         Dansk Kategori:         BIOS Vigtighed:         Alle

5. Vælg den BIOS-opdateringspakke, du vil downloade, i kolonnen Filtitel for at få vist downloadsiden (Figur 2).

    

   	Bemærk:
   	Hvis du har fået oplysningerne fra vores onlineværktøj Systemoplysninger eller fra din faktura, skal du bruge dem til at se, hvilken driver du skal downloade.

6. Gennemse oplysningerne på siden.

7. Klik på Download nu. Du får muligvis vist en advarsel og valget mellem at køre eller gemme filen.

    

   	Bemærk:
   	Hvis vinduet Dell Driver Download Manager vises, skal du klikke på Install (Installer).

8. Klik på Gem.

9. Når vinduet Gem som åbnes, skal du angive en mappe, hvor den downloadede fil skal gemmes, og derefter klikke på Gem.

10. Når overførslen er fuldført, skal du klikke på Open Folder (Åbn mappe) i Dell Driver Download Manager.

11. Dobbeltklik på filen og følg instruktionerne i installationsvejledningen.
