Síntomas

Select Dell Inspiron and Vostro laptops may experience an intermittent flickering issue on the LCD screen of the laptop.

Affected systems:

  • Inspiron 3501
  • Inspiron 5301, 5406 2-in-1, 5409, and 5509.
  • Inspiron 7306 2-in-1, 7300, 7506 2-in-1, and 7706 2-in-1.
  • Vostro 3400, and 3500
  • Vostro 5301, 5402, and 5502.

Causa

Dell recommends keeping your computers drivers and software updated to the latest version available.

Resolución

Updating to the latest BIOS version available for your Dell laptop will help resolve the LCD flickering issue. To download and install the latest BIOS, follow the steps below.

WARNING: Dell recommends disconnecting any external devices like external hard disk drives, printers, scanners before updating the BIOS.
 
WARNING: Dell laptops must have the battery installed and charged to at least 10% before you begin the BIOS update. Dell recommends connecting the laptop to AC power before proceeding with the update process.

  1. Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads website.
  2. Identify your Dell laptop
    • Click Download & Install SupportAssist to auto-detect your Dell product. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Dell SupportAssist. For more information, see the Dell knowledge base article Dell SupportAssist app (formerly Dell System Detect): Common Questions.
    • Or, enter the Service Tag, Express Service Code, or the Serial number of the Dell laptop and click Search.
    • Or, click Browse all products to manually select your Dell laptop from the product catalog.
  3. Under the Drivers & downloads tab, click Find drivers.
  4. Select the Operating System that is installed on the computer.
  5. Under Category, select BIOS.
  6. Locate the latest System BIOS.
  7. Click Download and save the file to your computer.
  8. Open File Explorer and browse to the location where the downloaded file is saved.
  9. Double-click the BIOS setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
