How to change PIN or Access Recovery on a ML3 Tape Library

Here you can find the description how to change the PIN of the ML3 via the front LCD and how to recover the PIN.

Note: Before calling Support it is a best practice to collect the Library Logs.  How to collect Library Log of a ML3 Tape Library

Change the PIN of the ML3 via the front LCD.

From the start screen press two times Enter




Now in the Home menue select User Accounts.


Select Change PIN 


Now you are in the PIN menue.


If you want to change the PIN press   and enter the new PIN with the arrow keys. Insert the same PIN within the Repeat PIN field. 


To confirm that click Submit.


You'll get the info, that the PIN was changed.



Access Recovery of the ML3 via the front LCD.

From the start screen press two times Enter




Now in the Home menue select User Accounts.


Select Access Recovery...


to get the reset screen for the Administrator account. By select Reset Password you will get a temporary password.



You can log in with that temporary password into the Administrator account. You will be forced at the first log in to change the Password to a new one.
