Dell Systems shipped with default RAID On mode

To ensure that your computer has the highest performance possible, the RAID On solution allows an Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver vs. a Windows native driver in Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) mode. This IRST driver allows the highest performance for read/write data.
 

Causa

Latitude systems shipped with default RAID On mode from the factory

Risoluzione

Note: This is not a hardware issue.

Use AHCI mode Windows native driver by changing from RAID to AHCI in the BIOS settings. Changing the mode to AHCI requires a new operating system install or image with the native Windows driver and will not have full performance capabilities as the IRST driver that was installed from the factory. Not doing so could fail to boot.
