Instructies

NetWorker no longer supports performing VMware protection with the VBA/EBR appliance. VMware protection is now performed using the NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance. A new vCenter plug-in has replaced the plug-in used by the VBA/EBR appliance. To remove the VBA/EBR plug-in follow the below steps.

Before you begin.
Take a snapshot/backup of the vCenter server before making changes.
Double check all commands before removing files from the vCenter server.

  1. Log in to the vCenter mob extension manager at https://<vCenter FQDN or IP>/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager
    • Use your normal vCenter web client credentials
  2. Unregister the following VBA plug-in extensions:
  • vcbimage
  • com.vmware.ebr (old extension - may not be present)
  • com.vmware.ebr2
  • com.vmware.networker2.config
  • com.vmware.ebr-avamar2
  1. Reset the SerenityDB on the vCenter server.
  • This is located at /storage/vsphere-ui/SerenityDB/serenity
  • There should be no entries remaining after this has been cleared
  • This is vCenter web client user cache, similar to Windows C:\Users  directories.
  • The only impact is that each user will experience a slight delay the next time they log in, as this is being re-created
NOTE: When first logging into the vCenter appliance, using SSH terminal such as PuTTY, you must run shell.
  1. Use the find command to find all instances of ebr2, networker2, and vcbimage. Remove these from the vCenter server.
  • find / -name *ebr2*
  • find / -name *networker2*
  • find / -name *vcbimage*
  1.   Restart the vSphere web client service
  • service-control --status vsphere-client
  • service-control --stop vsphere-client
  • service-control --start vsphere-client
  1. Clear browser cache and cookies
  2. Open a fresh browser
  3. Log back into vCenter web client at https://<vCenter FQDN or IP>:9443/vsphere-client/
