Dell NativeEdge: Device Passthrough Known Issues for Release 2.1.0.0 and earlier

The NativeEdge solution includes Device Passthrough to virtual machine capabilities such as USB, PCI-E, and GPU. In NativeEdge release 2.1.0.0, several issues were found in this functionality. 

Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe or PCI-E) is a serial expansion bus standard for connecting a system to one or more peripheral devices. If issues with setting up the PCI Device Passthrough are spotted, the following should be verified first:

1. Verify PCI or PCI-E devices that were visible in NativeEdge Endpoint Peripherals
2. Upload an application to catalog and enable PCI or PCI-E passthrough
3. Deploy the application and add PCI or PCI-E device to deployment
4. Deployment may stop responding for a long time, this is a symptom indicating a PCI or PCI-E passthrough issue
5. After the Virtual Machine booting, any of the passed PCI devices are not observed

NativeEdge Engineering has created a dedicated hotfix to address the issues described above.

• The hotfix only works if the NativeEdge environment is at version 2.1.0.0.

Contact Dell Support Services to allocate a hotfix bundle to fix the issue.
