Removing the hard drive assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

  3. To remove the hard drive assembly:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the hard drive assembly to the computer [1].
    2. Disconnect the hard drive assembly cable from the connector on the system board [2].
    3. Lift and remove the hard drive assembly from the computer [3].
