Removing hard drive

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
  3. To remove the hard drive:
    1. Disconnect the hard drive cable from the connector on the system board [1].
      NOTE The system default configuration is HDD. The laptop is either shipped with HDD or SDD.
    2. Remove the M2x5 screws (4) that secure the hard drive to the system [2].
    3. Lift the hard drive away from the system [3].
