Upgrade firmware controller using Dell Update Package (DUP)
About this task
NOTE:If the Online Capacity Expansion operation is in progress then you cannot update the firmware version.
Steps
- Go to the Drivers and Downloads page on the support site.
- Locate your controller.

Download the DUP file.
- To upgrade by using Windows or iDRAC, download the Windows executable file.
- To upgrade using Linux, download the .bin file.
NOTE:For VMware, firmware must be upgraded by using iDRAC or the PERC CLI. -
Install the DUP by doing one of the following:
- For Windows, run the executable file in the Windows environment.
- For Linux, run the .bin file in the Linux environment.
- For iDRAC, click , upload Windows executable, and then install.
