Installing the I/O-board
CAUTION:The information in this installation section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the I/O board and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Carefully slide and place the I/O board on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Align the ports on the I/O board with the port slots on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the two screws (M2x2.5) that secure the I/O board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- For computers with a fingerprint reader installed, connect the fingerprint reader cable to the connector (JFP1) on the I/O board and close the latch to secure the cable in place.
- Connect the I/O board cable to the connector (JIO1) on the I/O board and close the latch to secure the cable in place.
- Adhere the tape to secure the I/O-board cable to the connector (JIO1) on the I/O board.
- Close the right-display hinge and align the screw holes on the display hinge with the screw holes on the I/O board and palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the two screws (M2.5x4.5) that secure the right-display hinge to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
