Removing the fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the fan and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the fan cable from the connector (JFAN1) on the system board.
- Remove the three screws (M2x2.5) that secure the fan to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the fan off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
