Removing the hard drive assembly

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure inBefore Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. To release the hard drive assembly:
    1. Disconnect the data cables from the hard drives [1].
    2. Lift the hard drive assembly away from the computer [2].

  4. To remove the hard drive bracket:
    1. Pull one side of the hard drive bracket to disengage the pins on the bracket from the slots on the hard drive [1].
    2. Lift the hard drive out of the hard drive bracket [2].

  5. Repeat steps 3 to remove the additional hard drive (if available).
