Removing display assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    3. WLAN card
    4. WWAN card (optional)
    5. hard drive assembly(optional)
    6. display hinge cover
  3. To disconnect the display cable:
    1. Release the WLAN and WWAN cables from the routing channels [1].
    2. Remove the M2*5 screw that secures the display cable bracket to the computer [2].
    3. Remove the display cable bracket that secures the display cable [3].
    4. Disconnect the display cable and IR camera cable from the connectors on the system board [4][5].

      NOTE: Removing the connector [5] is only for IR camera models.

  4. Place the computer on the edge of a plane surface with the display facing down.
  5. To remove the display assembly:
    1. Remove the M2*5 screws that secure the display assembly to the computer [1].
    2. Lift the display assembly away from the computer [2].
