Removing the speakers

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the battery.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
  2. Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-controller board cable from the system board.
  3. Peel the tape that secures the speaker cable to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  4. Remove the speaker cables from the routing guides on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  5. Lift the right and left speaker, along with its cable, off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
