Complete the following steps to update from the SAP HANA agent 19.3 or earlier to the SAP HANA agent version

NOTE
In a multinode system, you must complete these steps on each node.
Ensure that no database or application backups are running.
To uninstall the existing stand-alone application agent, run the
rpm command as the root user:
NOTE
You do not need to shut down a database to uninstall the stand-alone application agent.
The uninstall procedure does not remove certain files and directories that contain logs and lockbox files. You must manually remove the log files, if required. Preserve the lockbox file as it will be used to rediscover the backups performed by the stand-alone application agent.

The SAP HANA agent supports a direct update from version 19.4 or later to version
19.9. To update the SAP HANA agent from version 19.4 or later, run the
ppdmHanaInstall.sh script with the
--upgrade option as the root user:
