Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 uses WinIoT 2.x policies by default.

WMS 4.1 and later versions offer enhanced support for WinIoT 2.x policies through a new user interface that includes a search function for efficiently locating configuration options.

When upgrading devices from Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 to Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024:

  • Devices using WinIoT (WES) policies: These devices require manual configuration of each parameter after the upgrade.
  • Devices using WinIoT 2.x policies: These devices do not require any manual configuration after the upgrade, as all configurations related to the WinIoT 2.x policy are automatically migrated.
