Installing the palm-rest and keyboard assembly

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

The following image shows the palm-rest and keyboard assembly before all the components in the post-requisites steps have been installed. Place the palm-rest and keyboard assembly on a flat surface.

Next steps

  1. Install the system board.
  2. Install the power button.
  3. Install the I/O board with WLAN-only support or I/O board with WWAN support, whichever is applicable.
  4. Install the touchpad assembly.
  5. Install the display assembly with WLAN-only support or display assembly with WWAN support, whichever is applicable.
  6. Install the WLAN-antenna module.
  7. Install the I/O-board FPC cable (for computers that are shipped with WWAN support).
  8. Install the I/O-board cable with WLAN-only support or I/O-board cable with WWAN support, whichever is applicable.
  9. Install the heat sink.
  10. Install the battery.
  11. Install the fan with WLAN-only support or fan with WWAN support, whichever is applicable.
  12. Install the speakers.
  13. Install the WWAN card (for computers that are shipped with WWAN support).
  14. Install the SSD.
  15. Install the base cover.
  16. Install the SIM-card tray (for computers that are shipped with WWAN support).
  17. Install the SIM card, if applicable.
  18. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
