Removing the power button

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the SIM card, if applicable.
  3. Remove the SIM-card tray.
  4. Remove the base cover.
  5. Remove the WWAN card (for computers that are shipped with WWAN support).
  6. Remove the display assembly with WLAN-only support or display assembly with WWAN support, whichever is applicable.
  7. Remove the I/O board with WLAN-only support or I/O board with WWAN support, whichever is applicable.

About this task

The following images indicate the location of the power button and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
NOTE:The power button on your computer may vary depending on the configuration which you have ordered.

Lift the power button off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
