Removing the small fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the fan cable from the connector (FAN3) on system board.
  2. Remove the three screws (M2x4) that secure the fan to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  3. Lift the fan from the system board.
