The following updates have been in the current release to improve functionality and user experience:
Keyboard shortcut management
ThinOS 10.x supports disabling specific keyboard shortcuts using WMS or APT. This feature allows administrators to control end-user keyboard behavior for improved security and standardized input. Only standard alphanumeric keys are supported.
Supported Keys:
- A–Z (alphabet keys)
- 0–9 (numeric keys)
- Shift + A–Z
- Shift + 0–9
Go to , and configure the required shortcuts under Disable shortcuts.
BIOS Common Configuration
Starting with the ThinOS 10.x 2511 upgrade release, BIOS Common Configuration is introduced and can be managed through WMS or APT.

Detects and reports chassis intrusion events to the system display during system boot.
Options:

Enables or disables HTTPs boot capability on the platform.
The default state is Enable.
UEFI Boot path securityDetermines whether the system prompts for the BIOS Admin password when booting from a UEFI boot path (for example, from the F12 Boot Menu).

- Always Expect Internal HDD
- Always Expect Internal HDD PXE
The default state is Always Expect Internal HDD.
Function LockControls the Function (Fn) key behavior on supported systems.
Options:

Function Lock is supported only on laptop platforms.
Function Lock ModeDefines the default behavior of the function keys.

Proxy PAC URL share path
Starting with the ThinOS 10.x 2511 upgrade release, the Proxy PAC URL share path is supported through the WMS or APT configuration UI, enabling administrators to configure proxy settings centrally.

PIV-enabled FIDO2 with NFC
Starting with the ThinOS 10.x 2511 upgrade release, it supports PIV-enabled smart cards with FIDO2 and NFC for authentication in the Chrome browser using WebLogin, enabling secure and modern passwordless authentication.

Upgrade from Windows 10 IoT to ThinOS 9.x and ThinOS 10.x
ThinOS supports a multistage upgrade path from Windows 10 IoT to ThinOS 9.x, and later to ThinOS 10.x. This upgrade path also applies to ThinOS 9.x Merlin–imaged devices, enabling a direct upgrade to ThinOS 10.x.
The firmware package WinIOT_ThinOS9_to_ThinOS10_Upgrade.pkg supports upgrading to ThinOS 10.x from:
- Devices that are converted from Windows 10 IoT to ThinOS 9.x.
- Devices imaged with ThinOS 9.x Merlin
