Removing display assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board.
  4. Remove the WLAN card.
  5. Remove the WWAN card.
    NOTE To identify the number of screws, see screw list.
  6. To remove the display assembly:
    1. Disconnect the IR camera cable from the system board [1].
    2. Un route the WLAN and WWAN cables from the routing channels [2].
    3. Remove the M2.0x3.0 screw that secures the eDP bracket [3].
      NOTE The display cable of Latitude 7290 is secured by a display bracket and a piece of tape adhered to the power-adapter connector on the system board. When removing the display assembly or system board, the display bracket must be removed and the piece of tape must be peeled back in order to disconnect the display cable.
    4. Lift the eDP bracket from the eDP cable [4].
    5. Lift the eDP cable to disconnect it from the connector on the system board [5].
    6. Un route the eDP cable from the routing channel [6].

  7. To remove the display assembly:
    1. Open the display of the computer and lay it on a flat surface at 180-degree angle.
    2. Remove the six (M2.5 x 3.5) screws that secure the display hinge to the display assembly [1].
    3. Lift the display assembly from the system.
