Removing heat sink assembly

Heat sink assembly consists of heat sink and the system fan.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
  4. To remove the heat sink assembly:
    NOTE To identify the number of screws, see the screw list.
    1. Remove the 2 (M2.0 x 5.0) screws that secure the system fan and the 4 (M2.0 x 3.0) that secures the heat sink assembly to the system board [2].
      NOTE Remove the screws in the order of the callout numbers [1, 2, 3, 4] as indicated on the heat sink.
    2. Lift and flip over the heat sink assembly from the system board.
    3. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board [1].
    4. Separate the heat sink assembly from the system.
