Update the LCM

Update the LCM and verify that the payloads update.

Prerequisites

Verify the following:
  • Environments
  • Support requirements
  • iDRAC version

About this task

After you save a selection, select Update Selected and Apply All Updates. Use this same process on all updates. Click Perform Inventory again to see the next available update.

Steps

  1. Click Perform Inventory and select the Firmware tab.
  2. Click Check Selection for update and then click Update.
  3. On the Review page, review the nodes and components, and click Apply Updates.
    The following steps process sequentially:
    • Cluster Software Component: Updates LCM to 2.6.x or the latest.
    • Hardware Entities: The Hardware Entities (Redfish) can be updated independent of ISM update and Dell Update Manager.
    • NVMe: For 15G, 16G, and 17G NVMe (Redfish) can be updated when VMD is enabled.
  4. Monitor the LCM update.
    For the latest steps and information, see the Life Cycle Manager Guide LCM 3.3. NVMe updates are updated as part of Hardware Entities when VMD is disabled.

The following example shows after LCM is updated and an Inventory was performed after update:

After the LCM Update is complete, No updates listed under Firmware displays. If any component has not been updated, re-run the LCM firmware upgrade.

After the LCM update, verify that the payloads are updated.
