Verify hardware requirements
The hardware payload includes BIOS, iDRAC, backplane, network card, BOSS, and HBA support.
The firmware versions in the LCM payload or documentation may be earlier than the firmware from the factory. Compate the shipment date with date of LCM block release. The documented firmware and driver versions are the minimal supported versions and are not a baseline for Nutanix support. The LCM process implements a Greater or Equal (GEQ) operator to ensure that firmware is not downgraded or reinstalled using LCM.

Use Nutanix LCM to update the appliance. Update operations are performed using the Redfish API. PTAgent and iSM updates do not require LCM. If the iDRAC version is earlier than the minimum supported version, LCM performs updates iDRAC firmware to the minimum listed version before updating iDRAC to the latest firmware.
