Removing the ExpressCard Module

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. bottom cover

    3. hard drive

  3. Perform the following steps to remove the ExpressCard shroud:
    1. Disconnect the ExpressCard board shroud cable from the system board. [1,2]
    2. Remove the screws that secure the ExpressCard shroud. [3]
    3. Lift and remove the ExpressCard shroud from the computer. [4]

  4. Perform the following steps to remove the ExpressCard board:
    1. Disconnect the ExpressCard board connector cable from the system board. [1,2]
    2. Remove the screws that secure the ExpressCard board. [3]
    3. Lift and remove the ExpressCard board from the computer. [4]
