Dell OpenManage Enterprise Integration for VMware vCenter (OMEVV)

The new Dell OpenManage Enterprise Integration for VMware vCenter (OMEVV), like the OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter (OMIVV), enables you to monitor, provision, and manage PowerEdge server hardware and firmware. You can perform these tasks through a dedicated Dell menu that can be accessed directly through the VMware vCenter console. Also, you can use the OpenManage Enterprise as a full-featured administration portal. OMEVV also enables granular control and reporting of the hardware environment using the same role-based access control model as vCenter. This new plug-in helps you to:

  • Monitor PowerEdge hardware inventory directly in Host and Cluster views and provide a plug-in dashboard within vCenter.
  • Bubble up hardware system alerts for configurable actions in vCenter.
  • Manage firmware alongside vSphere Lifecycle Manager in vSphere 7.0 and higher.
  • Set baselines for server configuration and firmware levels with cluster aware updates for non-vSphere Lifecycle Manager vSphere and vSAN clusters
  • Deploy ESXi to new PowerEdge servers faster and add them to be managed in vCenters.

OpenManage Enterprise supports Integration for VMware vCenter (OMEVV), this plug-in provides the same functionality of OMIVV leveraging OpenManage Enterprise as a more full-featured administration portal. Future major releases of vSphere and PowerEdge servers are supported by this new architecture.
