Dell Systems Management Overview Guide

Secured Component Verification

During the factory assembly of Dell PowerEdge servers, each system component is assigned a unique ID and recorded in a secure certificate. Dell signs two certificates—the Platform Certificate and the Firmware Certificate—and stores them within the server. Later, the Secure Component Verification (SCV) application uses these certificates to confirm that the server’s hardware and firmware match the original factory configuration, ensuring authenticity and integrity. For more information, see Secured Component Verification (SCV).
