Installing the E3 module

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
    NOTE:Route the backplane cables properly to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.

Steps

  1. Slide the E3 module into the storage module until it fixes in place.
  2. Using a Phillips 2 screwdriver, tighten the two captive screws on the E3 module.

Next steps

  1. Connect the drive backplane cables to the connectors on the system board and backplane.
  2. Slide in the storage module sled.
  3. Install the storage module cover.
  4. Install the HPM sled.
  5. Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system.
