Removing a cooling fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
  3. Remove the HPM sled.
  4. Remove the HPM sled cover.
  5. Remove the bus bar power cables
    NOTE:Remove the bus bar power cables if Fan 1 or Fan 5 has to be removed.

Steps

Press the blue release tab and lift the cooling fan to disconnect the fan from the connector on the system board.
