Installing a cooling fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.

Steps

  1. Align the stand offs on the fan module with the guide slots on the sled and slide it in.
    NOTE:Route the fan cable through the bracket of the PDB.
  2. Insert and tighten the two screws to secure the fan module in place.

  3. Connect the fan cable to the PDB.
    NOTE:The XR8720t has two sets of fan modules, and the installation steps remain the same.
