Removing the solid-state drive
CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.

Steps
- Remove the two screws (M2x3) that secure the thermal shield to the system board.
- Lift the thermal shield off the solid-state drive.
- Slide and lift the solid state drive from the solid-state drive slot (SSD1) on the system board.
