Removing keyboard

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    3. keyboard trim
  3. Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard cable from the connector.
    NOTE There may be different number of cables to disconnect based on the keyboard type.

  4. Turn over the computer and open the display.
  5. To remove the keyboard:
    1. Remove the M2*2 screws that secure the keyboard to the computer [1].
    2. Pry the keyboard from the edge and lift it away from the computer [2].
      WARNING Make sure you pull the keyboard cable routed under the computer to avoid any damage to the keyboard cable.
