Removing the Coin-Cell Battery

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory

    4. hard-drive assembly

    5. keyboard trim

    6. keyboard

    7. palmrest

  3. Perform the following steps to remove the coin-cell battery from the computer:
    1. Peel the adhesive tape to access the coin-cell cable [1].
    2. Disconnect the coin-cell cable from its connector on the system board [2].
    3. Pry the coin-cell battery to remove it from the system board [3]. Figure displaying how to remove the coin-cell battery from the computer.
