Installing the system board (For computers
shipped with smart card reader)

Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task

Fan-cable connector (FAN1)
Display-cable connector (LCD1)
DC-in port connector (DCIN1)
Speaker-cable connector (SPK1)
Memory-module connectors (DM1 AND DM2)
Battery-cable connector (BATT1)
Wireless-card connector (WLAN1)
Touchpad-cable connector (TPAD1)
USH board FPC connector
SSD slot (SSD1)
vPro cable connector
I/O-board cable connector (IO)

Steps
Align the screw holes on the system board with the screw holes on the palm-rest
assembly.
Replace the three screws (M2x3) that secure the system board to the palm-rest
assembly.
Replace the two screws (M2x5) that secure the Type-C module to the system
board.
Connect the following cables to the respective connectors on the system board:
I/O-board cable
vPro cable
USH board FPC
Touchpad cable
Speaker cable
Display cable (EDP)
Power-adapter port cable
Gently press the left display-hinge in a downward direction towards the system
board.
Replace the two
screws (M2.5x5) that secure the
left display-hinge to the palm-rest assembly.
NOTE:When replacing the system board, ensure that the USB
Type-C module is removed and transferred to the replacement system
board.
