Steps
Loosen the nine captive screws (M2.5x6) that secure the base cover to the
chassis.
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover starting from the U-shaped
indents at the bottom edge of the base cover near the hinges.
Pry open the top side of the base cover, then continue along the sides to fully
detach the base cover.
Lift and remove the base cover from the chassis.
NOTE: Ensure that your computer
is in Service Mode. If your computer is unable to enter Service Mode,
disconnect the battery cable from the system board. To disconnect the
battery cable, follow step 5 to step 7.
Peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery.
Disconnect the battery cable from the battery cable connector (BATT1) on the
system board.
Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the computer and drain the flea power.
