Removing the fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the fan cable from the connector (FAN1) on the system board.
  2. Remove the two screws (M2x3) that secure the fan to the system board.
  3. Lift and remove the fan from the system board.
