Removing the USH board (For computers shipped with smart card reader)

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the battery.

About this task

Steps

  1. Peel off the protective film from the USH board.
  2. Open the latch and disconnect the USH board FPC from the connector (CN661) on the USH board.
  3. Open the latch and disconnect the smart card reader cable from the connector (EC406) on the USH board.
  4. Remove the two screws (M2x2) that secure the USH board to the palm-rest assembly.
  5. Lift the USH board off the palm-rest assembly.
