Support for Imprivata ProveID Web mode load balancing

ThinOS ProveID Web (PIW) mode supports load balancing with Imprivata OneSign servers to improve authentication availability and resilience. You can configure multiple Imprivata OneSign servers to ensure high availability during third-party authentication.

Enhancements to Chrome browser management

ThinOS 10.x 2605 supports centralized management of Chrome browser settings through WMS or APT. You can configure the following Chrome browser features directly through WMS or APT:

• Manage Bookmarks—Creates and deploys a predefined bookmarks folder with custom bookmark names and URLs to all managed endpoints.
• Configure Default Tabs—Configures specific webpages to open automatically when users launch the Chrome browser.
• Manage URL Allowlist and Denylist—Controls website access by blocking specific URLs and permitting approved exceptions across managed devices.
• Hide system title bar and borders—Removes the Chrome browser window title bar and borders for a seamless, application-like display. This prevents users from resizing, moving, or closing the browser window through standard window controls.
• Manage Browser idle timeout—Monitors mouse and keyboard inactivity and automatically exit the browser session after a configured idle period. The default tab or URL relaunches immediately, providing a clean session for the next user.
• Ctrl + Alt + Del support in Browser Kiosk Lockdown mode—Allows you to invoke the system shutdown menu using the Ctrl + Alt + Del key combination while in Browser Kiosk mode, without breaking out of the locked browser environment.

Browser selection for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

You can configure a preferred browser for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) in broker login screens. ThinOS automatically identifies and launches the configured browser for SSPR, eliminating the need for users to manually select a browser from the ThinOS ConfigUI.

Disable auto login option

ThinOS 10.x introduces the Disable Auto Login option, which prevents the VDI broker login window from appearing automatically after a device restart or user sign-off. When this option is enabled, you can access the Chrome browser shortcut and browse the Internet locally without first authenticating to a VDI broker. The broker login window remains accessible from the floating bar on the taskbar.

Hiding the Chrome default browser popup in Citrix sessions

ThinOS 10.x hides the Google Chrome default browser popup automatically when Chrome launches from a Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops session.

Support for time server configuration using DHCP Option 42

ThinOS 10.x supports automatic Network Time Protocol (NTP) server assignment through DHCP Option 42. You can configure the DHCP server to distribute NTP server addresses to managed thin clients, enabling centralized time synchronization without the need to configure static time server entries in WMS device policies. This enhancement also resolves the BIOS time synchronization issue.

Session roaming for Omnissa Horizon published applications

ThinOS 10.x supports session roaming for Omnissa Horizon published applications. Session roaming enables users to move their active published application sessions seamlessly from one ThinOS endpoint to another without relaunching applications or losing unsaved work.

Minimize Citrix Workspace window in workspace mode

ThinOS 10.x supports minimizing the Citrix Workspace window in Workspace mode, allowing users to access the local ThinOS desktop and taskbar while a Citrix session is active.

Keyboard shortcuts for Classic Mode menu navigation

ThinOS 10.x supports keyboard shortcuts for quick access to context menu actions when operating in Classic Mode, improving efficiency and accessibility.

The following enhancements introduce keyboard shortcuts to improve access to context menu actions.

• Added keyboard shortcuts for context menu actions in Classic Mode.
• Shortcut keys are indicated by underlined characters and visible shortcut hints.
• Supported menus include:
  • Desktop right‑click context menu
  • System Tools and Administrative menus
  • Session and Utility menus

Support for overriding battery lower limit for firmware, BIOS, and application package upgrades

ThinOS 10.x allows administrators to override the default 50 percent battery restriction for firmware, BIOS, and application package upgrades on laptop‑class thin clients. Administrators can configure a lower battery threshold (15%, 25%, or 35%) so that upgrades are permitted when the device is connected to AC power.

When the battery level meets the configured threshold and AC power is available, ThinOS proceeds with the upgrade without displaying a low‑battery warning message.

Automatic logout of locked account with the Imprivata PIW lockclient feature

ThinOS 10.x supports automatic logout of a locked user session in Imprivata ProveID Web (PIW) mode using the lockclient feature. When a different user attempts to log in at the lock screen, ThinOS detects the username mismatch and automatically logs out the ongoing locked-in user, allowing the new user to access the workstation seamlessly.

This feature supports both keyboard-based credential login and proximity card tap-in or tap-out authentication. To enable this feature, enable the Enable Kiosk Mode Workstation option in WMS or APT under the Login Experience tab.

WDA change to reported RAM and storage size values in WMS

The Wyse Device Agent (WDA) on ThinOS 10.x devices now normalizes RAM and storage capacity values into standard capacity tiers before reporting them to Wyse Management Suite (WMS). The RAM size and device storage fields displayed under Device > System Info in WMS reflect standardized values, for example, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB for RAM and 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB for storage instead of raw or granular hardware figures. This normalization enables consistent filtering, grouping, and reporting across managed device inventories.

Other enhancements

The following enhancements are included in this release:

• Added support for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) SDK v4 (Beta) which provides feature parity with AVD SDK v3.3 and introduces targeted enhancements to improve multimedia redirection and collaboration experiences. This release is intended for validation with a focused feature set and includes the following updates:
  • Achieves functional parity with AVD SDK v3.3.
  • Adds Browser Tab Redirection support for Genesys (PureCloud) websites.
  • Upgrades WebRTC to M133, improving call quality and stability; validated with Microsoft Teams.
  • Introduces TWAIN scanner redirection support (requires scanner driver installation in the virtual machine).
  • Adds Microsoft Teams background blur support during calls.
• Increased character limit for the Send Message action in WMS expands the maximum message length from 128 to 512 characters, allowing administrators to send more detailed notifications to ThinOS endpoints.
• Admin Mode session management now automatically closes any windows or tools (including APT) that were opened with elevated privileges when the Administrator Mode session ends, ensuring all temporary administrative privileges are fully revoked upon exiting Admin Mode.
• Added a new option in WMS and APT settings to enable Generic Audit Logs. When enabled, important security and configuration changes that are performed on the device are sent to WMS and recorded in device event logs. Logged actions include the following:
  • WMS configuration changes.
  • Admin username or password changes.
  • Critical Central Configuration updates.
  • Other important administrative actions.

By default, audit logging remains optional and can be enabled based on administrator requirements.

• Added a new configuration option Disable Auto Login in APT and WMS at Advanced > Login Experience > Login Settings > Disable Auto Login. When enabled, the system prevents the broker login window from automatically appearing during startup or session launch. You can manually open the login screen using the login icon that is displayed on the floating bar or taskbar. This enhancement is especially applicable for brokers such as AVD, where Microsoft login windows may auto-launch by default. Existing login icon visibility behavior remains unchanged.

• Added granular reset control in custom privilege mode with the following additional reset options:
  • Factory Reset—Clears all configurations on the device.
  • Soft Reset—Clears all configurations except network-related settings such as DNS, Wireless, Proxy, and VPN, and certificates. The device is unregistered from Wyse Management Suite after the soft reset option is used.
  These options are controlled through the Account Privileges > Privilege Level > Customize > Reset System Settings → Factory or Soft Reset Options settings. When the Privilege Level is set to Customize, you can enable or disable specific reset options that are based on organizational requirements.
