Installing the keyboard

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

NOTE:Depending on the computer configuration purchased, the palm-rest and keyboard assembly may look slightly different from the images shown.

Steps

  1. Insert the keyboard at an angle into the palm-rest assembly.
  2. Carefully thread the two MCU cables through the slots on the palm-rest assembly.
  3. Adhere the Mylar tape that covers the two MCU cables.
  4. Replace the 23 screws (M1.4x1.3) that secure the keyboard to the palm-rest assembly.
  5. Connect the MCU cables to the MCU board and close the latches.
